Technical

The Stonescreen system consists of three main components as discribed below:

1. The frame
The Stonescreen frame is manufactured from Extruded Aluminium alloy. Aluminium combines lightness, strength, corrosion resistance and design flexibility. After the extrusion shape is designed a steel die is manufactured. To extrude, the aluminium billets are heated to 375° Centigrade and pressed through the die by a hydraulic ram. The extrusion is then stretched straight, heat aged before final processing of cutting, drilling and application of surface finish and fitting of thormal break and drainage channels. The manufacturing process is Quality Assured and registered BS EN 9002:1994 and BSI EN ISO 14001:1996.

2. The Insulated composite panels
100mm thick insulated composite panels are clamped into the frame system between air seahag gaskets. The insulation core is either PIR or mineral WOOL. The outer skins are plyester coated steel to form rigid, flat high strengh wall panels. The manufacturing process is Quality Assured and registered BS EN 9002:1994

3. The Stone rainscreen
From our base in the centre of the worlds largest Natural Stone Industry in Italy, we procure Quarry block world wide. Blocks of Granite, marble, sandstone, slate or Limestone are then cut into thinner slabs normally 20, 30 or 40mm. There is an abundant selection of colours and textures of natural stones available from Stonescreen. We will source and process any suitable natural stone from anywhere in the world. Using the latest NC and CNC machines the slabs have surface finished applied, e.g. polished, flamed brushed, honed, sand blasted etc then are sawn into exact panel sizes. The panels then have edge details applied and fixing mortises cut. Quality Inspected and given individual identification marks, carefully packed in wooden crates ready for dispatch.
